It breaks my heart, just like what's going on in the news right now about those poor girls.

Humanity sucks sometimes.CJ Englandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14369646691494182708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548579849622622993.post-41511147496905017202014-05-09T13:53:57.636-04:002014-05-09T13:53:57.636-04:00I love empanadas. In Talcahuano the university students were demonstrating. The police arrested as many as they could catch. The women were raped and sent home and no one ever saw the men again. She wrote a note I had translated to send to my senators and representative. I always get answers. Not one person in Congress acknowledged receipt of the letters. Pinochet was put in power by CIA assassination of Salvador Allende Gossens, the uncle of author and former journalist Isabel Allende.

When I walked the woman back to the bakery from a coffee shop she did not want me going around the corner to see what bus she got on. I said I did not even know her name. She said I didn't need to know her name.
Every time I eat or see the word empanada I am visually reminded of that time in 1983.Rayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01308737766288257680noreply@blogger.com
