What I mean by that is they are so detailed and rich as a child or young adult I know I--who read everything and anything--couldn't get into them because of the remarkable detail. I was too impatient. Now, I treasure the detail and flavor of the books. Friend books for sure.CJ Englandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14369646691494182708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548579849622622993.post-79945140833820851082012-09-27T04:31:37.495-04:002012-09-27T04:31:37.495-04:00Ilona, I agree. But at the same time, I know making two will only give me more of what I love! And I did it on audio tape as we were traveling through Australia. I don't think I would have appreciated it as a kid, but I loved it as an adult.CJ Englandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14369646691494182708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5548579849622622993.post-54221540593175478442012-09-23T12:30:48.029-04:002012-09-23T12:30:48.029-04:00I have not read any of the books, but I have seen ...I have not read any of the books, but I have seen portions of LOTR, but never the entire movie. The books aren't my thing, although I think if I watch this movie I may read the book. Sometimes reading after seeing the movie is better. It lets you fill in the blanks.

The best example for me anyway was, WHITE OLEANDER. I went to the movie with a friend. A couple of weeks later I took her from Cape Canaveral to the Orlando airport. The book store had a whole table full of the books. It had been an Oprah Book of the Month. The movie followed the book pretty close, but more or less as a Cliff Notes version. What was really different was that the movie left out the last two or three chapters.
