It's All About Sex

Hey all,

I like sex.  I mean...who doesn't?  It's fun, pleasurable and if done right, it can make your heart, mind, soul and body soar.

One of my favorite things about my job as a sensual romance author is the research I get to do.  I read books, see movies, interview specific people and go to museums.  You'd be surprised at just how much sex information you can get at the Louvre, the Hermitage or many other museums.

For example, this picture, obviously sexual in nature, hangs right in the lobby entrance of one of the galleries at The Louvre.  And it's not difficult to find others.  They're everywhere!!!

But, when I can, I like to go to museums that are more specific.  Those interesting places that target the actual topic itself.

Human sexuality.

If a city has one, I'll usually go.  Each is a little different and can add to my research.  And it's fun.  Can't forget the fun!  LOL

Here in Amsterdam there is a museum, that I have to say is one of the best I've been to.  Not so creatively named--SexMuseum Amsterdam--rather than a collection of porn, like some I've experienced, it's a thoughtful approach to sex and the way it's been seen throughout history.  They had art, dioramas, movies, books, photos and enough information to keep my creative wind blowing for years.

A little raunchy, a lot of interesting history and more than anything--FUN.  Check out some of these pics and you'll see what I mean.

This sculpture is one of the first seen in the museum.  It's a crowd stopper, I have to say.  A salute to masturbation?  Or a warning against excess?  Who knows?

And then there is this vase/bowl/art/worry stone.  LOL  The heads of the cocks are all shiny from being rubbed.

Don't know about you, but I'm not sure I could sit down on this one.

Okay, so this is a cool piece of art.  It's two pieces.  The erotic part, seen below the other frame is hidden by the more "respectable" art.  You can only see it if you know it's there and lift the frame.  There were several of these naughty artworks in the museum.

The next two paintings were hanging in the stairwells.  Both were beautifully done so I took a picture.  One for for Jonathon.  *grin*

This is a diorama of the Red Light District.  Hard to get it all in the picture, but it's of a brothel, a client and two of the girls.

If you want to see more art available in this museum, google SEXMUSEUM Amsterdam.  Hundreds of images will appear.  One of my favorite was of a small statue of a gal hugging a penis.  It was well crafted and the look on her face was priceless.  Here it is...

In fact, I liked it so much I had to get creative and do some performance art, LOL.  Whatcha think?  Am I doing it right?

Anyway, if you have a chance to visit this type of museum, go for it.  Put aside your inhibititions and you'll have an awesome time.  You'll be amazed at what's offered, enjoy the exhibits and even, if you're lucky, go home a little aroused.  *giggle*

And you might just learn something, too!!!!

Until Wednesday where I'll do my very first posting in my new home city of Antwerp, Belgium!!!!

Hugs to all,

CJ England

The one from the Louvre looks appetizing.

The Masturbation pic reminds me of the porn movie CANDY STRIPERS in which this actor whose name I don't know can do the same thing standing and bending to his fourteen incher.

The woman in the lingerie is beautiful.

The women in the brothel look like, "Oh well, it's just a job," not at all enthused.

You make a cute couple in the last one.

I am going to have to check out the museum on Bing and Google. If there are videos they should come up as well.

LOL, Ray. I wish I could put up all the photos. Some were intriguing and others were jaw dropping.

Still others made me blush and I don't blush easily. LOL
