Guest Blogger Time...Introducing Trevann Rogers

Hey all,

I'm sorry I've been gone the last few blogging dates.  I've been down with a horrible series of migraines, and I haven't been online much at all.  But I'm back today with the exciting paranormal author(s) Trevann Rogers.  And they've been kind enough to bring along one of my favorite heroes who has consented to a great character interview!

But first, let's learn a little about Trevann!  From the website...

Trevann Rogers is our writing pseudonym. We are two authors with day jobs, living in the wilds of Connecticut with Molly, a chubby rescue mutt who'd rather eat and snuggle than just about anything else, Chloe, a tough as nails terrier mix who never met a pillow she didn't want to kill, and Lil Monkey, a sock monkey who thinks he's real and hopes no one catches him sneaking out of the window in the middle of the night to live his own adventures.

Apropos for writers, we met as pen pals and stayed connected through our love for words and an unquenchable addiction to music. We use a pen name to spare our families questions regarding why their usually sane and sensible relatives write about rock stars, incubi, Were's and Vampires. House of the Rising Son is the first book in our premiere series, Living After Midnight.

Social worker and executive by day, our hours to write are long after the sun goes down and the creatures that live in the shadows come out to play. Between day jobs and other obligations, we learned long ago that being ourselves means living after midnight.

Okay!  Very cool!  More on these talented author(s) later!  Now, since this is an interview, I'm going to hand the reins over to Trevann. Enjoy!!!

Please join me in welcoming Alexander Davison, Esq. You may know him as the boyfriend of Cheyenne, the incubus rocker who seems to be lighting up the music scene in Unakite City. His story is chronicled in the novel, House of the Rising Son.

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, Alexander. Let's get right to it—how did you and Cheyenne meet?
Chey, I mean, Cheyenne and I met at Eddie’s, the club he was playing at the time. My friends and I had been going there for a few months. One night when the show was over, one of the waitresses introduced us.

Besides the fact that he's an incubus, what drew you to him?
We started going to Eddie’s just to have something to do on the weekends. But Cheyenne's a brilliant musician and that's what kept me coming back night after night. Of course, you really can’t separate his musical talent from his (super) natural sex appeal. The two work together to make an incredible show.

That's what drew you to his shows. What drew you to him? Why is he "the one"?
You don't mince words, do you? His music, his humor, his devotion to his children…He's a good guy. And he makes life interesting.

And he's the sexiest creature on the planet?
No doubt.

Speaking of an interesting life, congratulations on becoming a Were-tiger. What's the best part? What's the worst?
Thanks, I guess. No offense, but at first I wouldn’t have told you there were any good parts. It was disturbing to think about what I could do to my family or friends or even random strangers if I hadn’t been able to control my tiger. But we were able to gain control so I don't have to worry about hurting anyone unintentionally.

We? As in…?
Cheyenne helped me figure out how to tame my tiger, so to speak. I know that sometimes he can seem a little wild—incubus plus rock star equals wild. But he's pretty centered. He helped me think it through and learn how to channel calmness. It worked.

As for the good parts, like the ability to heal injuries and the extra strength and stamina; those kinds of benefits can't be beat. I never get even a cold anymore.

I understand he comes with a ready-made family. What was it like going from single to family man in time for the holiday season?
Oh man, that was crazy. I'd never really thought about kids. But when I met Jade and Jamie, I fell for them hard.  Those little guys are smart, adorable and frankly a little weird--in the best possible meaning of the word. How can you not love them? That being said, having my parents learn about them and then dragging them into my family's gatherings during the craziest time of the year, well, I wouldn’t recommend it. Not because the kids weren’t great. It was just a lot of confusion and in some cases, misunderstandings.

What were your human family's holiday traditions? Have you started any new ones, because of Cheyenne and the kids?
I think my family has typical holidays. We all get together and try not to hurt feelings or piss each other off too badly. Of course, that first Thanksgiving when my family found out about Chey set the bar kind of low. It had to get better than that.  But the kids' experience with humans and human customs and expectations was pretty limited, so let's just say mistakes were made. Now Cheyenne and I make sure Jade and Jamie understand how humans behave BEFORE we go to my parents. Otherwise, we spend the whole time trying to catch something the kids are going to say or do before it happens. I suppose our new tradition is “role play before visiting the in-laws.”

Since Dot, my sister, has boys, my family is thrilled to have a little girl in the family. They are committed to spoil her more than she already is. And she loves it.

What are your plans or resolutions for the new year?
Chey has some career opportunities opening up for him and we're going to see how that plays out before we make any plans. I'll be heading the Entertainment Law department for Davidson and Davidson so we'll both be busy with contract negotiations.

Any news you can share?
No, not yet. But Chey may have an announcement or two soon. As far as resolutions go, mine is just to live every moment to the fullest. Whatever the future holds, life with Cheyenne is going to be wild ride and I don’t want to miss a minute of it.

Thanks, CJ for hosting Alexander and me. I've had a bad time with intense vertigo this week so this is my first day with the ability to sit at the computer. My apologies! PS Cheyenne says "Anytime!"
